Hey, I'm Dr. Erin C Berthold.

I received my PhD in Pharmaceutics from the University of Florida in 2022, focusing on the interaction potential between mitragynine (derived from Mitragyna speciosa) and cannabidiol (from Cannabis sativa) as an alternative for individuals facing substance use disorders. My passion lies in the realm of complex natural products, and I aspire to modernize and expand their applications while adeptly navigating the intricate regulatory landscape in which they exist.

In 2011, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in History from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Before pursuing my PhD, I accumulated eight years of experience in manufacturing, quality control, engineering, and quality assurance roles within the regulated sectors of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, dietary supplements, and food.

Upon graduation, I served as the Research and Development Director for an herbal supplement company, where I established an internal Quality Control testing laboratory and led a dedicated team of scientists focused on quality and innovation. I am now eager to broaden my impact in the industry by leveraging my knowledge and expertise to drive success through science, innovation, and leadership.

In my leisure time, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Ziva, and a constantly changing group of rodents.
