Planted in Science Consulting
I received my PhD in Pharmaceutics from the University of Florida in 2022 where I studied the interaction potential between mitragynine (from Mitragyna speciosa) and cannabidiol (from Cannabis sativa) as an alternative for individuals suffering from substance use disorders. I am passionate about complex natural products and want to expand and update their use while navigating the complicated regulatory landscape in which they reside.
I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2011 with a major in Biological Sciences and a minor in History. Prior to returning to school to obtain my PhD, I worked for eight years in manufacturing, quality control, engineering, and quality assurance roles across regulated industry at pharmaceutical, medical device, dietary supplement, and food companies.
For the past year, I worked as the Research and Development director for an herbal supplement company where I built out an internal Quality Control testing laboratory and led a team of scientists committed to quality and innovation. I'm now looking to expand my role in the industry using my knowledge and expertise to bring success through science, innovation, and leadership.
In my spare time I like to hang out with my pet rats - Friar Tuck, Little John, and Robin Hood.
